1. Legal Warranty
All products sold by Murillo’s Academy SurfShop are covered by the legal warranty of conformity, in accordance with Portuguese and EU legislation (currently 3 years for movable goods, subject to legal exceptions).
The warranty covers manufacturing defects or lack of conformity existing at the time of delivery.
2. What Is Covered
The warranty applies to:
- Manufacturing defects;
- Structural or functional issues not caused by misuse;
- Material or workmanship defects.
3. What Is Not Covered
3.1 Normal Wear and Tear
- Natural wear resulting from normal use;
- Aesthetic changes caused by sun, salt or sand exposure.
3.2 Misuse or Negligence
- Damage caused by impacts, drops, improper transport or storage;
- Use outside normal surfing or water sports conditions;
- Repairs or modifications carried out by third parties.
3.3 Specific Products
Surfboards
- Minor dings, dents or scratches resulting from use;
- Breakage caused by impact with rocks, seabed, other surfers or objects;
- Damage caused by prolonged exposure to heat or sunlight (e.g. inside vehicles).
Wetsuits and technical apparel
- Tears, cuts or wear resulting from normal use;
- Damage caused by fingernails, velcro, sharp objects or improper washing.
Clothing and swimwear
- Loss of elasticity, fading or natural wear;
- Damage caused by improper use.
4. Warranty Claims Procedure
To submit a warranty claim, customers must contactMurillo’s Academy SurfShop providing:
- Order number;
- Detailed description of the issue;
- Clear photos of the product and defect.
After assessment, Murillo’s Academy SurfShop will proceed with:
- Repair;
- Replacement;
- Refund;
- Or another legally applicable solution.
5. Technical Assessment
Product evaluation may involve the manufacturer or distributor.
If the issue is not covered by warranty, the product will be returned to the customer and shipping costs may apply.
